after a nice visit with the San Francisco county sheriff's department, I realized that being deprived of music, especially new music is a mortal sin. In the last few days I have hit all of my sources hard in search of something fresh, or at least a fresh take on a solid record. In the midst of saying goodbye to my car, and figuring out holiday plans, I bring you a few tracks for your listening enjoyment... tell all your friends.

the first few tracks come from Fake Blood- straight out of London, this guy has been tearing it up all summer. They call his music "fidget house" because of chopped samples and hectic beats, but it sure gets the floor moving.

Halloween has typically treated me pretty well these past few years, and this year was no exception. My indie hipster douchebag costume fared well, with my Persian scarf, neon stunnas and multi colored chucks giving me an "authentic alt look." In between swallows of PBR and privlege heem was a dirty dance party. You all haven't heard a peep out of me in over a month, primarily due to some troubles and the everyday grind taking my focus away from the "blogsphere." However, it hasn't stopped me from digging for gems. In addition to this new drop, start preparing yourselves for The Adventures of Ernest Michaux, a hard drinking private detective with a heart of gold. In the time since my last post, I caught a MSTRKRFT/Felix Cartal/Congorock show at the Mez- WOW. Al-P and JFK killed it (along with a 5th of crown royal) although I have to say im getting tired of waiting for the new album to drop.

In the meantime I have been searching for the dirtiest of dirty electro and house beats for your enjoyment. Some of these are already considered "dated" by scene standards, but if you haven't heard em, you have been sleeping on some serious stuff.

A short Hiatus..

Well its good to see people are digging the music here. I took a short hiatus from electronic music to get over the glut of shit being put out there and to not ruin a few of my favorite songs. After a massiv hotbox, dozens of quoteworthy conversations, and a Lunesta/211 fueled freestyle debacle, I'm back with a few new bangers that will get you bumpin harder than Jeremy Johnson at the power exchange.

maybe a possible self imposed complete detox is in order. Its funny that for some time the only thing not going well in my life was school, and now that im completely killing it grades wise, my luck turns for the worse. Isn't that ironic, dontcha think? (haha) Regardless of the fucked up things that happen in all our own personal and social lives, the world doesn't stop to offer sympathy or regret, so we must push on knowing that everything works out in the end. Ok, im getting off my soapbox now. Music is one of the great things that we can all take solace in, and in this stage in life its all about beats and bass. Its great that temperatures finally started to spike as soon as I started school. This, the incessant "welcome back" partying and work have put a small damper on the ever lasting quest for bangers, but during this time period I came up on some serious gems. (08-14) 08:24 PDT SAN FRANCISCO -- Two men were found shot and killed early today inside a parked car bordering the University of San Francisco campus, police said.

The shooting was reported at 5:30 a.m. at 2245 Golden Gate Avenue, a police spokesman said.

Officers were summoned to the scene by a report that the men were sleeping inside the vehicle.

No arrests have been made. Homicide investigators are at the scene of the shooting.

University spokeswoman Anne-Marie Devine said the car was parked on a city street bordering campus and next to the Harney science building. Initial reports indicate that the two victims were not USF students or "anyone affiliated with the university," she said.

Thats a little too close to home.

Well it has been over a month since I last posted, and quite alot has gone down. I finished spring semester thankfully and throughly enjoyed my few weeks off before summer school, going to my house in cabo (absinthe time) the napa valley wine auction, partying like a rockstar and bumming on the surprisingly hot San Francisco beaches. Now that summer school is in full swing with tons of work packed into 6 weeks, all the homies decide to come home. Its a juggling act but I can't turn down schmobbing with the OG's, especially since Ross is only in town for a few days before he heads off to LA. Speaking of LA, for those of you down there I will be making a pilgrimage in late july/early august depending on if I go to this wedding with Jovi or she makes it into town. Regardless plan on seeing me in town in that time frame, and its going to be a serious party. I'm bummed to miss EDC this weekend, It will be off the chain (almost the same lineup as ULTRA '08) Take lots of pictures guys. I feel kind of lazy in regards to uploading music right now, but lets just say the past few weeks have been full of nu-disco, house and as always, some slaps. The new Three 6 Mafia album finally dropped, and it is above average, somewhat a return to their roots. My new jam though is a recording of Benny Benassi's live set at ultra in cd quality, truly an experience.

oh, and yes the new headline picture is San Francisco. Looks kind of European doesn't it?

The first few selections come from Alkaline Trio, a band that I have been listening to for god knows how long now. I hadn't listened to this album in awhile until I stumbled upon the disc recently and gave it a spin for old times sake. I now remember how good of an album this is, and you should give these tracks a listen. Its uncomplicated, stripped down rock with a darkish twist, but very far from what people consider to be "emo"

The past two weekends have been legendary, and even with a sociology term paper on deviance theory and multiple tests looming over my head, I'm still making time for fun, whether it be spitting flows (hah) my new found love of biking or being the party animal that many have come to know. I feel like I should be planning the weekend now in order to best the one before. At least I have made solid plans for 4/20. I know alot of people here in the city think its so cool to kick it at hippie hill and blaze, but I'm pretty over that small meadow full of rotting junkies. I found the answer in the Porter meadow celebrations down at the University of California Santa Cruz. Its alot more than whats going down up here, and at least random people wont be trying to sell 8ths of oregano. On top of whats going down on campus, Devin the Dude is performing live at the Catalyst the same night, which should be absolutely ridiculous. To say the least its been a good month so far. Anyone excited for Wyatt's release? I would normally say lets throw a rager in his honor but who knows what to expect. Guess we just got to keep on truckin. The thizzle game is heating up (but not in the bad way) and hopefully some dividends will make there way west once the eagle has landed! To those cats on the east, THIZZ OR CHOKE ON SUMTHIN!!! I ran into my nephew at Whole Foods today, he was scared of me. (hahah) cute little kid, and there are more on the way. I find it hard to picture myself as an uncle, much less a big brother, and I know some people support that notion. I still hold it down for the fam. well, all this excessive partying in the last year has taken a real toll on my body (liver & lungs anyone??) At the urging of some important people in my inner circle, its time to get the ol blood pumping again. I am in the worst shape of my 21 long years, and its time to get my groove back. I'm starting with hella bike rides, so anyone who is down to sprint some hit me up. Ditching malt liquor and white bread makes the soul happier. Il leave some cool shit for people later, but Ive had a full weekend with Keeney and Woody coming up to the vineyard and the kegger. I have yet another interesting night lined up, and the ride I just took was fabulous. In the meantime, check out my bro's latest single, performed live on Jimmy Kimmel.

Wyatt is out of rehab in the next 10-14 days, and I can speak for all when saying that we're looking forward to it. I really have not been digging the cold, at all. so I just completed what was perhaps one of the craziest weekends in my life. Hella fun. I didn't realize that Moby was actually a good DJ, and Benny Benassi tore it up. The vibe was amazing, and I think the whole crew really had a great time. I had to rent a car in West Palm Beach to make it down to Coral Gables (to Ross' place) and quite frankly, I was embarrassed to drive that scraper (nissan sentra) in Dade County next to the Aston Martins and Lambo's. Maybe next time Il bring the beem out. Miami is a crazy place that I could totally see myself living in. Fast living is the game there, and I have been tiring of the monotonous daily grind (or lack thereof) back home. I will post a couple of the better songs I heard at ULTRA that still blow my mind, and maybe I will draw a picture of the thizz monster. For those of you that have no clue what Im talking about, during Underworld's set this "thing" in a silver bodysuit on stilts came through the crowd(sketching people out.) It had one light on its forehead, which made it look like a cyclops. Ever since Ross and I have been working on avoiding the thizz monster, although after you see it, he/she/it will haunt your dreams (haha)

So after a brutal two day-multi time zone crawl to southern florida, Im doing what I do with the old money crew. Seeing families of other Millbrook kids, people I grew up with going to this club, and of course family. The golf is amazing, except for the blisters from the club grips, and the weather has been in the 70's even at 2am. Ive been killing it at the driving range, especially when Im listening to a little Mac Dre. For some reason I started hitting the ball well over 200 when he said "im diggin her out while im playing with her" (haha, il leave that one up to yall) This place is all fun and games, but frankly I miss my dog and my car, but am happy to get the hell away from the city for awhile. This time on the east coast gives me a chance to reflect on what I have in life and what I should be thankful for, which I believe is good for your attitude and approach to daily life. It also gives me a chance to escape from the bullshit that I have going down back home (primarily my shortcomings, minor drama and a messy apartment) and figure out how to remedy those situations. While I am away from home, it hasnt stopped me from coming up on a new rotation of BAY AREA fire, and Im going to drop this little nugget which I think most will enjoy

Believe it or not I am the first and only of the crew to actually make it out to his new home. If I get down there I for sure want to hit up Mansion and a few other of the dope spots Ive heard alot about (chuuch) Well, I think about done with dropping knowledge right now, but who knows, in a little bit I might holler. I found some 211 at the store today, and was stoked (I thought Florida had a limit on alcohol content in beer) so I think Il enjoy one poolside after I split this swisher.

Im in Florida, and the whole purpose of the trip was to see family and play some golf, and it doesnt seem right sitting on my ass inside, so Im off to the range for some practice, and I will contribute something with more substance later.
