after a nice visit with the San Francisco county sheriff's department, I realized that being deprived of music, especially new music is a mortal sin. In the last few days I have hit all of my sources hard in search of something fresh, or at least a fresh take on a solid record. In the midst of saying goodbye to my car, and figuring out holiday plans, I bring you a few tracks for your listening enjoyment... tell all your friends.
the first few tracks come from Fake Blood- straight out of London, this guy has been tearing it up all summer. They call his music "fidget house" because of chopped samples and hectic beats, but it sure gets the floor moving.
Halloween has typically treated me pretty well these past few years, and this year was no exception. My indie hipster douchebag costume fared well, with my Persian scarf, neon stunnas and multi colored chucks giving me an "authentic alt look." In between swallows of PBR and privlege heem was a dirty dance party. You all haven't heard a peep out of me in over a month, primarily due to some troubles and the everyday grind taking my focus away from the "blogsphere." However, it hasn't stopped me from digging for gems. In addition to this new drop, start preparing yourselves for The Adventures of Ernest Michaux, a hard drinking private detective with a heart of gold. In the time since my last post, I caught a MSTRKRFT/Felix Cartal/Congorock show at the Mez- WOW. Al-P and JFK killed it (along with a 5th of crown royal) although I have to say im getting tired of waiting for the new album to drop.
In the meantime I have been searching for the dirtiest of dirty electro and house beats for your enjoyment. Some of these are already considered "dated" by scene standards, but if you haven't heard em, you have been sleeping on some serious stuff.
Well its good to see people are digging the music here. I took a short hiatus from electronic music to get over the glut of shit being put out there and to not ruin a few of my favorite songs. After a massiv hotbox, dozens of quoteworthy conversations, and a Lunesta/211 fueled freestyle debacle, I'm back with a few new bangers that will get you bumpin harder than Jeremy Johnson at the power exchange.

After hitting the party circuit these past few weeks to save some bar money, I have come to the realization that most people play some pretty shitty music. I mean, yeah some of it will get the ladies moving, but do we need to hear lollipop or I kissed a girl every 10 minutes? Who's getting lucky to that? In light of this discovery, I bring you a new compilation made specifically to get your sip and dance on to. With tracks ranging from the early 90's to today, west coast to the dirty and up north, all the bases are covered. Today I feel like honoring a fine lyrical poet, Mr. Dubee A.K.A. Sugawulf Pimp, who has been turning out fine crestside slaps for well over 10 years. These selections represent some of his earlier work, but its great party music as well as some straight G shit. (hah) If you dont already know, you gotta get down on this ish.
maybe a possible self imposed complete detox is in order. Its funny that for some time the only thing not going well in my life was school, and now that im completely killing it grades wise, my luck turns for the worse. Isn't that ironic, dontcha think? (haha) Regardless of the fucked up things that happen in all our own personal and social lives, the world doesn't stop to offer sympathy or regret, so we must push on knowing that everything works out in the end. Ok, im getting off my soapbox now. Music is one of the great things that we can all take solace in, and in this stage in life its all about beats and bass. However, this time I'm going to mix it up a bit, and throw some other genres in for you to sample.
Im going to start with Scotsman Calvin Harris, who I have posted before, but at a recent kegger heard his debut "I created Disco" for the first time in awhile, and I realized that its full of party bangers. Im sharing a few off the album and a couple of more recent remixes he has taken part in. Expect big things from this kid in the next year.
Next are some assorted tracks assembled in the last few days that have been refreshing, especially since its becoming harder and harder to weed out all the bullshit thats flooding the market these days.
Since I have been exclusivley posting house/electro for awhile, I figured I would share a little hip hop for your listening enjoyment. From Andre Hicks' visionary lyrics to J-Dilla's revolutionary beats, you will enjoy these.
